The Cost of Inconsistent Branding

One week, your brand sounds serious and professional.

The next week, it’s quirky. Then motivational. Then suddenly very Gen Z.

Sound familiar?

As an agency, we’ve seen this happen when brands are trying to keep their content fresh. And honestly, the intention is understandable. Nobody wants their brand to sound boring.

But there’s a difference between keeping your content fresh and constantly changing who your brand sounds like.

Your brand doesn’t have to use the same tone in every post. A campaign can be playful. A thought-leadership post can be serious. A festive post can be warm.

But there should still be something that makes people think, “Yep, that sounds like them.”

That familiarity is what builds a brand over time.

This is something we think about a lot at Digital Podes Media. Before asking “What should we post?”, we also need to ask:

“How should this brand sound?”

Because trends will change. Content formats will change. Algorithms will change.

Your brand shouldn’t have to reinvent its personality every time they do.

Consistency isn’t about saying the same thing.
It’s about sounding like the same brand while saying different things.
